Team Malaga v Team Almeria

Introduction: this page is designed to help both website visitors and spectators at the match, who are interested in following this competition, but may not be familiar with this particular format. It is based on the World Bowls Federation Outdoor Bowls model. Known as the World Outdoor Bowls Championships, first held in 1966, it features teams representing national and regional organizations. In Spain only players who have official residency in the relevant match regions are eligible to play for their respective teams.
Competitors play in four specific disciplines: singles, pairs, triples, and fours making it a demanding set of different bowling skills. In this case, Malaga and Almeria each have two five-person teams in both men’s and women’s categories making it twenty players in all with each team also having three reserves. Matches are played over two days in both morning and afternoon sessions between opposing 5-player teams under the supervision of two umpires.
Match details: All matches are based on 18 ends. These are scored as follows : two points for a win, one point for a draw and zero points for a loss. The winning teams (separately for men and women) are the ones which have scored the most points across all matches when the tournament has concluded.
