Congratulations to Terry Higgins & Andy Moffat on their deserved win over Jeff Turner & Ken Pritchard in the Final.
Ken and Andy had an epic tussle and Jeff played very well. However, Terry plyed 5 or 6 match changing bowls, trailing the jack back for 4 on two separate occasions and taking shot on 3 or 4 more ends in high pressure positions. On such shots are Competitions won or lost and it so it proved. Well done to both teams.
Both semi-finals were decided on the last end.
Ron and Graham were holding 4 until Jeff came with weight into the pack with the last bowl of the game and took the shot to win.
In the other game Dave and Ray were holding 2 to take the game to an extra end until Dave’s last bowl clipped the jack sideways just enough to give shot and the game to Terry and Andy.
Playing dates:
Round 1: Monday 13th November
Quarter Final: Tuesday 14th & Thursday 15th November
Semi-Final: Saturday 18th November
Final: Tuesday 21st November
Those who wish to play are seeded into two groups and one player drawn from each group. The cut off point between the two groups is arbitary, depending on the number of entrants in the competition.
The Competition is played to full Federation rules, i.e. 18 ends, two trial ends, no restrictions.
Each round will be drawn separately
